West African Rescue Association e.V.
HELOG KG is the founder and initiator of the "West African Rescue Association e.V."
Today, after strong support by Helog in the start-up period, WARA is a successful organization of high international repute.
The West African Rescue Association e.V. is based in Ainring/Germany. Object of our association is supporting development aid in the public health sector as well as public healthcare in the West and North West African countries, Ghana in particular.
We wish to achieve this aim by providing non-material and material support for the public health sector in Ghana. In our concept, Ghana is considered as a stepping stone to the further development of the West and North West African countries.
WARA e.V. aims to support and improve the Ghana public health sector by
- supporting medical air and ground rescue organizations in this country
- and by promoting the provision of the relevant expert knowledge in terms of aeronautical engineering and rescue services including the implementation and procedural organization necessary.
These efforts are based on our conviction that it should also be possible in developing countries to establish efficient emergency medical services and thus reduce the number of casualties. In this context, we regard qualified training of the medical staff for ground and air-based means of emergency transport as the basis for improving the Ghana public health sector. For this reason, the association in Accra/Ghana organizes training courses for future and currently employed medical staff in Ghana.
This includes training courses for nurses, doctors and other medical staff in Ghana, and first-aid courses which WARA e.V. organizes from Germany. Additionally, training for future paramedics has been initiated in Accra. The free training courses are open for everyone, for members as well as non-members of WARA e.V. Thus, WARA is laying the foundation for providing sustainable help for self-
help in the medical sector.
Every year, WARA e.V. has hundreds of first-aiders trained by our partner firm in Accra - WARA Ltd. - which will soon also provide professional training courses for paramedics. We consider continuous training as a vital prerequisite for long-term support and thus for success. The training courses are conducted on site in Ghana by our reliable partner firm WARA Ltd. In addition, the courses are supervised by German WARA e.V. staff, who are also present on site. The WARA e.V. staff on site
and also the EMTs and future paramedics trained by WARA provide intensive consultation and support to all local posts involved in the public and non-profit health sector as well as in civil defense and emergency organization in terms of integrating ground and air rescue services in existing health care chains, and training medical staff.
However, in order to pursue the object of the association, we depend on financial aid. If you consider it worthwhile to support this charitable object of the association, please help us with a donation or by becoming member of WARA e.V. Our aim is providing a kind of development support that makes a difference. We want to achieve improvement by offering qualified training.
Training helps - please help us.
